Will

Veterinary Technician

Will grew up along the East Coast in a military family that always had pets. He remembers from a very young age helping out with his mother’s pet-sitting business and accompanying the family animals to their annual checkups. As he got older, Will’s passion for hunting and fishing also sparked an interest in the anatomy and physiology of animals. With a background like this, it seemed almost inevitable that he’d one day grow up to pursue a career in the veterinary industry!

Following high school, Will enrolled in the University of New Hampshire, majoring in animal science with a pre-vet intent. During the spring of 2022, at the conclusion of his sophomore year, Will contacted Dr. Harmon with the intention of shadowing a few days a week during summer break. On his first day, he was offered a position as a veterinary technician, which he gladly accepted. As he continues to work toward his goal of becoming a veterinarian, Will enjoys his technician work and is eager to learn every day.

Outside of work, Will has a miniature schnauzer named Shooter, a yellow lab named Mabel, and ten unnamed chickens. When he’s not working or studying, Will still enjoys going out in nature to hunt and fish. He also loves the game of football and feels blessed to be able to play Division 1 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham.

Nikki

Veterinary Technician

Being a veterinary technician is not just Nikki’s job. It’s her passion. There is nothing more fulfilling than helping an animal or educating a client on how to help their pet thrive. Nikki’s goal is to make visits to the vet something our patients not only tolerate but actually enjoy! Every time an appointment ends on a positive note, Nikki knows in her heart that she’s right where she belongs.

Nikki’s journey began in high school when she landed a job at a local kennel and veterinary clinic. There, she wasted no time rolling up her sleeves and helping the veterinary team in any way she could. She worked there for several years before moving on to a larger practice and then an emergency clinic. After taking a brief hiatus, Nikki found her way to Sandwich Animal Hospital and hasn’t looked back since!

At home, Nikki’s world is filled with love, laughter, and a plethora of pets. In addition to her young daughter, whom Nikki describes as her whole world, there are three dogs (Wednesday, Abram, and Tibbs), two cats (Elmer and Louis Coggsworth), two betta fish (Lagoon and Mikey), and four chickens—two that live outdoors (Taylor and Pepper), and two who are handicapped and live inside (Poppy and Peep).

When she’s not busy helping patients, spending quality time with her daughter, or wrangling her animal family, Nikki enjoys going on long nature walks, playing board games, and watching movies.

Eilidh

Veterinary Assistant

Eilidh’s love for biology and animal sciences started early, but it was the “tiny but mighty” world of microbiology, genetics, and developmental biology that really stole her heart. This curiosity took flight (literally) when she became a Shorebird Monitor Supervisor at the Duxbury Beach Reservation, where she proudly stood guard over the charming yet endangered Piping Plovers.

After earning her Environmental Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2023, Eilidh wasn’t ready to hang up her field boots just yet. With her bird conservation project wrapped up, she decided to get up close and personal with more animals—enter Sandwich Animal Hospital, where she now channels her passion into helping furry, feathered, and scaly companions alike.

Speaking of furry companions, Eilidh’s home life revolves around her sweet cat, Melon, whose favorite hobby is waking her up with a hair-chewing alarm clock routine. When she’s not dodging Melon’s antics, you’ll find Eilidh out birding, binoculars in hand, hoping to one day return to the world of avian conservation. Until then, she’s happy to be a champion for creatures big and small.

Christine

Client Service Representative

When Christine was about 10, a beautiful friendship blossomed between her and Ms. Perry, an older woman who lived in the neighborhood. Ms. Perry had a cat named Ashleigh, an aloof old gentleman whom Christine was determined to win over. When Ashleigh developed a chronic illness, Christine began joining them on trips to the vet. There, she watched as the staff patiently handled Ashleigh and answered Ms. Perry’s questions. The experience stuck with Christine, and she knew she wanted to work in a field that would foster relationships like that.

While in high school, Christine really took to the subjects of natural science and marine biology. Her early career consisted of working in doggie daycares, kennels, and grooming facilities. Eventually, Christine worked her way up to the role of veterinary assistant. She stepped into the CSR role a few years ago and hasn’t looked back since. Professionally, Christine enjoys meeting clients and connecting with them through their pets. She has a special interest in cytology and behavior.

Outside of work, Christine lives with her son and a variety of pets. There’s Maxx Snuggs, a rescue dog from the Dominican Republic who looks a lot wiser than he is, and two cats: Louise and Luna. Louise is a sassy, chubby girl who has been with Christine since her first year in vet med. Luna, the eldest of the crew, keeps everyone in line with a firm paw. They also have two Mexican tarantulas, and a ball python named Bru. In her free time, Christine enjoys painting, writing, hiking, camping, and photography.
