March 28th is Respect Your Cat Day! Of course, we think that kitties deserve to be treated with respect every day. But how do you show your feline overlord her proper reverence? If you were to ask Fluffy, she would probably insist on stocked fishponds and catnip gardens in every neighborhood, and kitty trees and catwalks in every house. Veterinary Care
We know, many of our feline patients would probably take issue with this. Most cats aren’t exactly thrilled about the indignity of being forced to go on a car ride, and they often are perplexed about what happens during their exams. Clean Litterboxes
No surprises here. Fluffy prefers her litterbox nice and clean, and who can blame her? We recommend scooping daily, and changing the litter every week or so.
Stimulation

Attention Done Right
Kitties can be very affectionate. However, they can also be rather finicky about just when and how they get petted, and for how long. Never force attention on your cat. Let Fluffy decide when it’s time to cuddle, and when cuddle time is over.
Love
Last but not least, make sure your cat feels loved and safe. Pay lots of attention to Fluffy, and let her snooze on your lap sometimes. One of the best ways to show your kitty proper respect is to let her use you as furniture!
