Thanksgiving is coming up quick! Many people are starting to make plans for the autumn holiday. As it turns out, our feline pals have an agenda of their own. In this article, a local Bourne, MA vet discusses Fluffy’s holiday plans.
One of Fluffy’s golden rules is to always leave the proper amount of fur on everything. Your feline friend will thoughtfully divide her time between different napping spots to ensure that no place is left completely free of cat hair. In fact, your cat may even go out of her way to sleep on any jackets that are laid out on beds or chairs. (Tip: a damp sponge is great for removing fur.)
Not even a holiday can throw off kitty napping schedules! Fluffy will spend a chunk of the morning snoozing. Being adorable and lounging around doing nothing are apparently very tiring.
Kitties like to keep a close eye on their humans. Your furry pal will carefully watch as preparations are made. She may also try to assist with things like changing sheets and, of course, prepping the turkey.
Our feline buddies are certainly opportunistic little pets. Fluffy is always on the lookout for warm napping spots. Sooner or later, someone will get up. When they return, they may very well find a kitty in their spot.
Fluffy definitely deserves a special snack. Offer her some plain, unseasoned turkey, without the skin, bones, or fat. A can of plain tuna in water is also fine.
Kitties certainly aren’t shy about their beauty rituals. Your furry little diva may decide to clean herself in the middle of a room full of guests!
Kitties have a special way of figuring out who is allergic to them. If one of your guests is allergic, Fluffy will beeline for them. (Tip: set out some tissues and stock up on OTC meds.)
After that delicious dinner, many Americans will be participating in the tradition known as the food coma. Fluffy may partake as well. Your kitty may curl up on your lap as you relax in your favorite spot. Purring cats are truly something to be thankful for. They also make great napping buddies!
